Senator I.D. Gyang has expressed outrage against  renewed attacks on Plateau  communities in Bokkos and  Irigwe-land, resulting in the massacre of over 100 persons and many others hospitalised with gunshot wounds.

Senator Gyang says the relative peace that was becoming a reality in the state must not be allowed to be subverted by killer bandits. In this regard, security agencies, the OPSH in particular, who have done well in restoring relative peace to the state in the past 15 months thereabout should up the game against the killer bandits who are bent on eroding the gains recorded so far.

Senator Gyang recommends further that in order to regain, retain and sustain the peace, the OPSH should deal decisively with the killer bandits and emplace effective deterence mechanisms, while government should empower vulnerable communities with resilience capacity as first line of defence, and engage peace inclined community leaders and groups in an all inclusive constructive dialogue for lasting peace.

Senator Gyang empathizes with the victims of the attacks in Bokkos and Irigwe-land and prays for speedy healing for the injured.

Barr. Evelyn I. James (Mrs)

Senator I.D. Gyang, Esq.
