The serene town of Garaku came alive as dignitaries from across Nasarawa State stormed the community to celebrate with the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, during the sendforth ceremony of his daughter, Miss Esther Akayi Danladi.
Leading the high-profile guests was the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, who chaired the occasion and delivered a heartfelt message to the bride. He urged Miss Esther to uphold the virtues of prayer, respect, patience, and love in her new home.
"You are leaving your parents for a new phase of life. To succeed in marriage, you must respect your husband and his family, care for your home, and maintain effective communication," Dr. Akabe advised.
"Follow the good example of your father, a gentleman and man of the people, and your marriage will be peaceful and fulfilling."
The Deputy Governor also extended his congratulations to Speaker Jatau and his wife for successfully raising a daughter prepared for marriage, while praying for God's blessings upon Esther’s union.
In an emotional remark, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau expressed his gratitude to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their presence. He described the occasion as one of the proudest moments of his life.
“It is every parent's dream to witness their daughter’s journey into matrimony.
I am grateful and deeply moved by this moment,” he said, offering prayers for his daughter’s happiness and stability in her new home.
Other dignitaries who spoke at the event included House members Hon. Suleiman Yakubu Azara, Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki, Hon. Ibrahim Aliyu Nana, Hon. Musa Ibrahim Abubakar, Hon. The event was graced by an array of political and traditional leaders including the State APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello; State Accountant General, Dr. Musa Ahmed Muhammed; Wife of the Governor, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule; and HRH Sylvester Ayih, among others.
The ceremony blended celebration and solemnity, as attendees encouraged the bride to anchor her marriage on faith, character, and humility virtues they described as timeless keys to a successful marital life.
