It was a moment of joy and celebration today as Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, gave out his daughter, Esther, in marriage to Josiah at a solemn wedding ceremony held at ERCC Mercyland, Ombi 1, Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

In a heartfelt message, Rev. Bitrus Kaya of ECWA Goodnews Garaku, who officiated the ceremony, charged couples to uphold the sanctity of the marriage institution, emphasizing that a God-centered home is key to a happy and prosperous family life.

"Families that do not depend on God are bound to face crises," Rev. Kaya warned, urging the newlyweds and other couples to invite the presence of God into their homes to overcome life's challenges.

He further encouraged the bride to be submissive and respectful, while advising the groom to be responsible and loving at all times.

The marriage rites were formally conducted by Very Rev. Bainta Anthony of ERCC Mercyland, who joined Esther and Josiah as husband and wife, stressing that marriage is a union not just of bodies but of hearts, ordained by God and not to be separated by man.

Among dignitaries present was the Chun Mada, HRH Samson Gamu Yare, who advised the couple to avoid third-party interference in their marital affairs and prayed for God's blessings upon their union.

His words were echoed by the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi, who represented the State Government at the service.

The event was graced by top personalities, including the immediate past Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, members of the State Assembly, government officials, and well-wishers from within and outside the State.

Following the church service, a well-attended reception was held at Lafia City Hall, where Governor Abdullahi Sule personally blessed the couple, congratulated them, and offered guidance on building a successful marital life.

In his remarks, Speaker Jatau expressed immense joy at witnessing his daughter’s wedding, describing it as the dream of every parent.

"I am delighted to see Esther married today. I pray for God's abundant blessings and a blissful marriage for the couple," he said.

Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Ibrahim Peter Akwe, member representing Obi 1 Constituency at the State Assembly, appreciated all guests and supporters of the event, while encouraging the newlyweds to embrace unity, tolerance, peace, openness, and understanding as pillars for a lasting marriage.
