The Nasarawa State Government has issued a strong warning against the encroachment and illegal exploitation of its gazetted reserves, emphasizing its readiness to take decisive action against offenders.

The warning came from the State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Isaac Danladi, during a courtesy visit by representatives of the NGO, ACReSAL popularly known as Liquid Power Limited held in his office on Monday.
Hon. Danladi expressed deep concern over the unlawful activities of individuals encroaching on government owned forests and reserves for selfish interests.

He stated that the Ministry under his leadership would no longer tolerate such violations.

“We have the mandate to safeguard every gazetted reserve, and we have already set in motion a framework to catalogue all of them,” he declared firmly.

The commissioner acknowledged the importance of partnerships with developmental stakeholders, urging the people of Nasarawa State to take ownership of environmental protection efforts to ensure sustainability and ecological balance.

Earlier in the meeting, the Director of Liquid Power Limited, Dr. Salamatu Ibrahim Ekpo, noted that their visit was aimed at aligning with the Ministry’s mandate and contributing to the realization of sustainable environmental initiatives across the state.
