Nasarawa Attorney General Pays Familiarization Visit to Chief Judge, Seeks Stronger Collaboration Between Justice Ministry and Judiciary

The Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Barr. Isaac Danladi, has paid a familiarization and courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Hon. Justice Hajiya Aisha Bashir Aliyu, at her chambers in Lafia, the state capital. 

The visit is part of his deliberate effort to strengthen institutional relationships and foster synergy between the Ministry of Justice and the state Judiciary.

Speaking during the visit, Barr. Danladi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and highlighted the importance of building a strong and cordial working relationship between the Executive and the Judiciary.

 He stated that such collaboration is essential for effective justice delivery, promoting the rule of law, and ensuring timely adjudication of cases across the state.

“I am here today not only to familiarize myself with the leadership of the Judiciary but to also seek greater collaboration and cooperation between our two institutions. 
Our collective goal is to ensure that the people of Nasarawa State have unhindered access to justice and that our legal system remains strong, credible, and efficient,” the Attorney General said.

He also reiterated his commitment to supporting judicial reforms, capacity building, and providing legal frameworks that will enhance the performance of both the Ministry of Justice and the Judiciary.
 Barr. Danladi emphasized the need to eliminate bottlenecks within the justice sector through joint initiatives and continuous dialogue.

In her response, the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Hon. Justice Hajiya Aisha Bashir Aliyu, commended the Attorney General for the thoughtful visit and described it as a timely and commendable step.
 She noted that collaboration between the Judiciary and the Ministry of Justice is vital for the effective functioning of the legal system and pledged the Judiciary’s willingness to work closely with the Attorney General and his team to achieve shared objectives.

Justice Aisha further stressed the importance of mutual respect, transparency, and professionalism in the relationship between the two institutions, noting that these values are essential for maintaining public trust and upholding the integrity of the justice system.

Also present at the meeting was the Secretary of the Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission, His Wardship Yahaya Yakubu Shafa, who lauded the Attorney General’s initiative.
 He expressed optimism that the renewed cooperation would lead to greater institutional harmony and an improved justice delivery framework in the state.

The visit marks a significant step towards fostering a seamless working relationship between the Ministry of Justice and the Judiciary in Nasarawa State, with a shared vision of strengthening justice delivery and enhancing public confidence in the legal system.
