The leadership of the Karu Football Association (FA) has paid a congratulatory visit to the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Isaac Danladi, at his country home in Karu.
Led by the Chairman of Karu FA, Atu Yepwi, alongside Nasarawa FA Board Member, Akeusola Segun, the delegation emphasized the importance and benefits of sports in youth development and community engagement.
They lauded the commissioner’s dedication to grassroots sports and his efforts toward infrastructural development.
In his response, Hon. Isaac Danladi expressed gratitude for the long-standing relationship between him and the association of coaches despite challenges.
He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring things are done the right way, highlighting that his appointment as commissioner is not only for Karu but for the entire state.
Danladi commended the unity displayed by the visiting delegation and assured them of his continued efforts to create an enabling environment for sports development.
He outlined his plans, including:
Combating climate-related challenges that negatively impact sports and recreation.
Attracting investors to boost sports infrastructure in the region.
Collaborating with the Local Government Chairman to drive Karu’s overall development.
Establishing a world-class government-private partnership sports center in Karu.
Advocating for an insurance scheme to safeguard athletes' welfare.
Encouraging young people to combine sports with education for a brighter future.
Calling on all stakeholders to support the government’s developmental agenda.
Setting up a standard 7-a-side football pitch in Karu.
