The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Isaac Danladi, has expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Karu Local Government Chapter, for their solidarity and congratulatory visit following his recent appointment into the cabinet of His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi A. Sule.
Describing the visiting delegation as “the three wise men from Karu”—two wise men and one wise woman Hon. Danladi commended their thoughtfulness and acknowledged the value of youth engagement in governance and community development.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude for your visit. Your decision to come and felicitate with me is not only commendable but a clear reflection of the unity and progressive spirit that defines Karu Local Government,” he stated.
Hon. Danladi also congratulated the youth representatives for successfully completing the recent five-day empowerment training facilitated through a collaborative effort involving the North West State Government and Interwave International USA.
“You went through five days of rigorous training some say it’s equivalent to five years and I’m glad my own constituents not only participated but did so excellently. What you've gained is not just training, but a tool for self-reliance and sustainability,” he remarked.
He emphasized that the success of the program was not his alone, but a product of collective efforts involving the local government chairman, Hon. Barr. James Thomas Madaki, and NYCN leadership, led by Comrade Teota Samuel.
Highlighting the inclusive approach to youth selection, Hon. Danladi explained that the beneficiaries were drawn from all parts of Karu—Karu Municipality, Panda Development Area, and Karshi Development Area demonstrating the administration’s commitment to equity, unity, and non-discrimination.
“In Karu, we are selfless and detribalized. We don’t look at tribe or religion. What matters is merit and representation.
The choice of beneficiaries from different areas is proof of our inclusive governance,” he said.
Hon. Danladi charged the youth to return home and replicate the impact of the training by empowering others. “We have taught you how to fish. Now go back, be self-sufficient, and help others rise. That is how we lift communities.”
He concluded by encouraging continuous collaboration between the youths, the local government, and relevant ministries to ensure sustainable development across Karu and beyond.
