The Executive Director of Housing, Finance, and Accounts at the Federal Housing Authority Abuja, Dr. Mathias Byuan achieved a significant milestone with the conferment of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration (Finance) during the 14th Convocation Ceremony of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in Abuja.

Dr. Byuan's path to his PhD award at the 14th Convocation Ceremony of NOUN was marked by challenges, which he openly acknowledged in his speech.

He said his journey underscored the importance of perseverance, dedication, and the invaluable support received from loved ones and mentors throughout his academic pursuit.
Dr. Mathias Byuan meanwhile declared that the attendance of friends, family, and well-wishers at the convocation ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the significance of his academic achievement.

"Their unwavering support and encouragement played a pivotal role in my success, underscoring the importance of communal celebration in acknowledging accomplishments".

Dr. Byuan maintained that the award of a PhD in Business Administration (Finance) has positioned him among a cohort of distinguished alumni who have significantly impacted their respective fields, adding that his success serves as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring scholars and commitment for professionals in academic endeavours.

During the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria, NOUN, Professor Olufemi Peters, particularly congratulated Dr. Mathias Byuan and described the institution as a transformative force in higher education, not only within Nigeria but across international borders.

Professor Olufemi highlighted NOUN's pivotal role in the Nigerian educational landscape, noting its substantial increase in student enrollment and unwavering commitment to providing quality education.

The ceremony also featured the conferment of honorary doctorate degrees on two distinguished individuals including the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass and the President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina.
