The Speaker of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Karu Chapter, Comr. Maichibi Dogara Gitata, JP, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the Honorable Commissioner for Environment, Nasarawa State, at his residence in Karu. The visit was aimed at fostering collaboration on environmental initiatives and congratulating the Commissioner on his recent appointment by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Speaking during the visit, Comr. Gitata praised the Governor’s decision to appoint a competent and dedicated leader to oversee the state’s environmental affairs. He expressed confidence in the Commissioner’s ability to drive policies that promote environmental sustainability and community sanitation.
He further emphasized the importance of youth involvement in environmental protection, stating that the Youth Assembly is ready to work with the Commissioner to implement grassroots initiatives, including waste management, afforestation, and climate change awareness campaigns.
In his response, the Honorable Commissioner appreciated the Youth Assembly’s gesture and assured them of his commitment to ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment in Nasarawa State. He welcomed their support and encouraged continuous engagement to strengthen youth-led environmental advocacy.
Comr. Gitata also pledged the Youth Assembly’s full support for the Commissioner’s success in office, stating that young leaders in Karu and beyond are willing to contribute to initiatives that align with the government’s vision for environmental sustainability.
