The Women’s Wing of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Federal University Lafia (Fulafia), led by its Women Leader, Comrade Becky Kajo, has expressed profound appreciation to the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Isaac Danladi, for his unwavering support and commitment to women’s empowerment.
During a courtesy visit, the delegation commended Hon. Danladi for honoring their invitation to the International Women’s Day celebration and for his consistent engagement with the university community.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Comrade Becky Kajo stated, “Your presence at our event was highly significant, and we do not take your support for granted. You have always been there for us, even on short notice, and we sincerely appreciate you.”
In response, Hon. Isaac Danladi reiterated his deep respect for women, citing his personal and familial ties.
“I have a mother, daughters, sisters, and many female relatives and friends.
I understand the vital role women play in society, and I will always support initiatives that uplift and empower them,” he said.
The Commissioner also expressed gratitude for the delegation’s visit and the token of appreciation presented to him.
“I should be the one appreciating you for the honor of being part of your celebration.
Your recognition means a lot to me, and I assure you of my continued support,” he noted.
Discussions during the visit extended to potential collaboration between the university and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, particularly in addressing environmental challenges such as climate change and global warming.
Hon. Danladi emphasized the need for proactive measures in light of NIMET’s predictions of heavy rainfall, assuring the delegation that his ministry is committed to mitigating the effects through sustainable policies.
