The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Isaac Danladi, has held his first official meeting with key stakeholders in preparation for the forthcoming monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Danladi acknowledged the delay in the commencement of the meeting, citing an urgent government function at the Government House, where the Acting Governor was the guest of honor.

 He expressed appreciation for the patience and understanding of attendees, stating that their commitment to the cause signals a readiness for action.

Highlighting his vision for a cleaner and healthier Nasarawa State, Hon. Danladi emphasized the need to revamp the existing environmental sanitation framework.

 He noted that while a system was already in place, there was a pressing need for improvement.

 "When I assumed office as the Commissioner, I made it clear that we must change the environmental and sanitation architecture of the state. What we met on the ground was below expectations, and we must work towards making Nasarawa one of the cleanest states in Nigeria," he stated.

Drawing from experiences in other states such as Akwa Ibom, Cross River, and Abia, the Commissioner underscored the importance of human commitment in achieving a cleaner environment. 

He reiterated that the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule, with two years left in office, is determined to enhance Nasarawa’s environmental status.

Hon. Danladi further expressed confidence in the task force overseeing the sanitation process, commending their expertise and dedication.

 He also revealed that various NGOs and private organizations have shown interest in partnering with the government to improve sanitation efforts.

As preparations intensify for this month’s sanitation exercise, the Commissioner assured stakeholders of the government's unwavering commitment to ensuring a cleaner and healthier Nasarawa State.
