Association of Nigeria Students , Nasarawa state Chapter, comrade Hussaini A .Eya has applauded Governor Abdullahi Sule and the Board Secretary for the regular payment of Scholarship allowances to indegene students in the state through the Atomated Teller Machine ATM system across institutions in the country ; saying the method adopted has reduced the students burden of transportation and other intricacies involved during the Table payment in the previous years.
Comrade Hussaini who made the assertion in an interview with our correspondent in Lafia the state capital at weekend ; noting that the ATM payment which was introduced by the Executive Secretary of the Board Hajiya Sa'adatu Yahya has made scholarship allowances accessible to all the qualified indegene students with ease through alerts notifications immediately after flagging- up exercise at the Board headquarters .
' We the beneficiary students of Nasarawa state Scholarship must give kudos to governor Sule and the Scholarship Board management for making everything easier for us students now compared to years back where students were called to come to the board or their zones for payment allowances. But now at your doorstep one can access his or her money without stress or risk taking by travelling far from places like Lagos, Maiduguri, Portharcourt, Kano, Bauchi etc to Lafia to get your allowaes. ' He added.
Comrade Hussaini further opined that with the prompt payment of Scholarship by the state government under governor Sule and the leadership of the Board is worthy of commendation because it has curtailled the hardship amongst students viewed from the economic reality today. He said before students were stranded, out of pocket money, lack of food stuffs and school fees but now the system has provided a shade for all the beneficiaries courtesy Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The state NANS President also emphasized the need for Nasarawa students to be United and give the desire support to the current administration of Engr Abdullahi Sule by shunning act of immorality capable of causing disunity; adding that Nasarawa students should focus on their studies which is the only panacea that will bring meaningful development to the state now and for the future generation.
Speaking on the dissolution of the former Team of Teachers Service Commission TSC led by Abubakar Gada Keffi to recruit Teachers into schools but the exercise was later characterized with abnormalities in the state .
To this effect , comrade Hussaini described the action taken by governor Sule as one of the best approach ; stressing that it will serve as a warning message to others in the future, as according to him', 'what the younger generation want today is to give them quality education through the recruitment of sound and qualified teachers '.
He however appealed to the
entire people of the state to rally round the governor just as he said the governor alone cannot do everything hence the need for collective ideology for the growth and development of the state.
