In a bid to support his constituents during the Sallah celebration, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau, has distributed N6 million and 700 bags of rice to residents of his constituency.

The distribution, which took place at his residence in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area, was aimed at ensuring that beneficiaries celebrate Sallah with ease while also enhancing their standard of living.

Commitment to Community Welfare

Speaking during the event, Speaker Jatau emphasized his dedication to the well-being of his constituents, noting that such gestures have been a longstanding tradition for him during festive periods.

"I have always made it a priority to identify with my people during celebrations like Sallah and Christmas. This initiative is my way of putting smiles on their faces," Jatau stated.

He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the support effectively, noting that each recipient would receive N20,000 in addition to the food items.

The Speaker further reassured those yet to benefit from his initiatives, pledging that his programs would continue to reach all constituents equitably.

Call for Prayers and Unity

Beyond the distribution, Jatau called on the people of his constituency and Nasarawa State at large to continue supporting Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration.

"His Excellency, Engr. A.A. Sule, has significantly impacted all sectors of the state’s economy, with projects cutting across every local government area. We must continue to support and pray for his success," he added.

He also urged citizens to shun divisive politics based on ethnicity and religion, stressing that unity and collective efforts are key to the state’s progress.

As the Ramadan season continues, the Speaker encouraged Muslim faithful and Nigerians at large to use the period for prayers toward national peace, security, and development.

Commendation from Stakeholders

Several political stakeholders and community leaders commended Speaker Jatau for his philanthropic efforts. Among them were the Chairman of Kokona LGA, Hon. Agbawu Mek Agbawu, and the APC Chairman, Hon. Jacob Terry Bado, represented by the Local Government APC Secretary, Hon. Luka Osu.

They lauded the Speaker for his dedication to grassroots development and urged other political leaders to emulate his example.

The event was attended by top government officials, including the Special Adviser to Governor Sule on ICT, as well as traditional and religious leaders.
