A Socio Political Group known as Alia Consolidation Core Team (ACCT) has blamed Senate Minority Leader, Senator Patrick Aba Moro of doing little to protect the fate of fellow parliamentarian, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the ongoing saga between her and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
In a statement issued by Comrade Didacus Secivir Iorver, Secretary, Alia Consolidation Core Team, the group expressed concern about the seeming silence maintained by Senator Moro in response to the mistreatment of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a fellow PDP member.
"The apparent double standard in Moro's reactions has cast doubt on his dedication to principles of justice and fairness, particularly in addressing abuses of power within his party".
The group says the failure of Senator Moro to speak out against the unjust punishment faced by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, without valid justification, underscores the erosion of democratic values and elected representatives' rights'.
The statement adds that the inaction not only stained the Senate's integrity but also contradicts the professed values of the PDP.
The statement reads in part, "A recent series of political maneuvers has brought to light Senator Aba Moro's alleged hypocrisy, raising questions about his commitment to justice and integrity within his own party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP).
Senator Moro's intervention in the Benue State House of Assembly affairs recently, coupled with his public criticism of decisions made by the assembly, has sparked concerns about his true motives among the group.
Speculations of personal vendettas or political machinations have emerged, overshadowing his portrayal as a moral authority.
Meanwhile, as calls for integrity over political expediency grow, the group has urged Senator Moro to uphold the ideals he champions and address injustices within the ranks of his party, PDP.
"Failure to do so risks undermining the trust of constituents who expect principled leadership that transcends political affiliations'.
