During the visit, Hon. Danladi expressed his gratitude to Governor Abdullahi Sule for considering him worthy of appointment as a commissioner, just three months after his retirement from the civil service. He described the appointment as an opportunity to continue serving the state in a new capacity, leveraging his experience and expertise in public service.

He emphasized that, as Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, his administration would be proactive in tackling environmental challenges, promoting afforestation, ensuring effective waste management, and implementing policies that will safeguard the state’s natural resources. He also pledged to work tirelessly to improve environmental sustainability, enhance public awareness on environmental issues, and support the state government’s vision for a cleaner and healthier Nasarawa.

Hon. Danladi further noted the significance of collaborating with the Office of the First Lady, recognizing her pivotal role in grassroots engagement and advocacy, particularly in promoting environmental hygiene, sanitation, and community development. He expressed his desire to partner with her initiatives in areas such as environmental education, tree planting campaigns, and waste management sensitization, which he believes will have a lasting impact on communities across the state.

In her remarks, Hajiya Silifat Abdullahi Sule warmly welcomed the commissioner and commended him for his dedication and commitment to service. She offered prayers for his success in office and assured him of her support in any initiative that aligns with her advocacy programs, particularly in community-driven environmental awareness and cleanliness campaigns.

The First Lady further stated that Hon. Danladi’s appointment was not a surprise to her or many others, considering his numerous contributions to the development of Nasarawa State. She acknowledged his vast experience and expressed confidence in his ability to drive positive change in the environmental sector.

The visit marks the beginning of what is expected to be a fruitful partnership between the Ministry of Environment and the Office of the First Lady, as both parties seek to work together to enhance the state’s environmental and natural resource management strategies.
