The Muslim community of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commenced this year's Ramadan Tafsir, with a call for strict adherence to the ethics of fasting and engagement in good deeds.
The Tafsir, which began on Tuesday, is being conducted by the Chief Imam of Mallam Sarki Mosques, Super Cinema Lafia, Mallam Muhammad Muhammad Sarki.
In his sermon, the cleric emphasized the significance of Ramadan fasting and urged Muslims to uphold its ethics to receive the full spiritual rewards of the holy month. He further reminded believers of the inevitability of death and the need to live with the fear of God.
Mallam Muhammad Muhammad Sarki encouraged Muslims to consistently engage in righteous acts, warning against sinful behaviors that could disrupt peace of mind and accountability in the hereafter.
Speaking at the event, the Acting Clerk of the House, Ibrahim Musa, commended the cleric for his teachings and urged Muslim staff to participate actively in the daily Tafsir to maximize its spiritual benefits.
The opening session of the Tafsir featured prayers for leaders, Nasarawa State, and Nigeria at large, as well as supplications for the successful observance of the Ramadan fast.
