The Karu Local Government Football Association has pledged its unwavering support for the newly appointed Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Isaac Danladi, following his appointment by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
The association’s chairman, Mr. Atu Yepwi, made this declaration during a visit to the commissioner’s office in Lafia, where he expressed immense joy over the appointment. He emphasized that Hon. Danladi’s position as commissioner and a critical stakeholder in Nigerian football presents an opportunity to advance the sport in Karu Local Government Area.
"We are ready to leverage Hon. Danladi’s influence to promote and develop football in Karu," Mr. Yepwi stated, reaffirming the association’s commitment to supporting the commissioner’s success.
Danladi Assures Commitment to Football Development
In his response, Hon. Isaac Danladi described the visit as a homecoming, given his long-standing passion for youth and sports development.
"Football is primarily played by the youth, and as someone with a background in sports, I am committed to seeing how we can develop the game in Karu," he said.
Hon. Danladi advised the association to establish at least one amateur football club in Karu to participate in the Nationwide League One (NLO), assuring them of his personal support in achieving this goal.
He further noted that such an initiative would not only promote youth engagement but also help address the issue of youth restiveness, stressing that the responsibility of ensuring security should not rest solely on Governor Abdullahi Sule.
