Agatu Local Government Chairman in Benue State, Hon. Melvin Ejeh has Advocated Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment, as the world marks International Women's Day, underscoring the significance of celebrating and empowering women within the community. 


With a passionate call to action, Hon. Ejeh emphasized the pivotal role that women hold in enriching societal fabric from familial caretaking to pioneering endeavors across diverse sectors. 


In a message of solidarity to the women of Agatu Local Government, the Council Chairman stressed the necessity to champion and elevate women, reiterating the imperative of supporting their aspirations and achievements.


Ejeh unequivocally condemned all forms of gender-based violence and discrimination, advocating for the establishment of an inclusive and safe environment where all women are encouraged to thrive. 


According to him, by denouncing such injustices underscores the urgent need for collective efforts to obliterate systemic barriers and foster a more equitable society. 


Hon. Ejeh encouraged widespread acknowledgment and gratitude for the indispensable contributions women make in "shaping our communal landscape", urging concerted efforts towards realizing gender parity and empowerment for all women.


He particularly assured of his administration's commitment to not only carry the women along but also Initiate programs and projects that would address the peculiar needs and challenges of women in Agatu Local Government.
