In recognition of his outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability, the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Isaac Danladi, has been honored with an award by Afri Earth Foundation.
The award, presented by the foundation's Program Director, Laurence, underscores Danladi’s remarkable impact in less than a month since assuming office.
Laurence emphasized that the commissioner’s proactive approach and dedication to environmental conservation set him apart as a true champion of sustainable development in the state.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Isaac Danladi expressed profound gratitude to Afri Earth Foundation for the recognition, describing it as a significant encouragement to continue his mission of transforming the environmental landscape of Nasarawa State.
"I am deeply honored to receive this prestigious award from Afri Earth Foundation.
This recognition is not just for me but for the entire team at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, who have worked tirelessly to implement sustainable policies and programs that will positively impact the lives of our people.
It is indeed humbling to see our efforts being acknowledged within such a short time in office," Danladi stated.
He reiterated his commitment to intensifying environmental protection efforts, addressing waste management challenges, promoting afforestation, and ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
"This award serves as a motivation for me to redouble efforts in tackling environmental issues in Nasarawa State. We are focused on enforcing policies that will curb indiscriminate waste disposal, encourage tree planting, and promote eco-friendly initiatives that align with global best practices.
I urge all stakeholders, including community leaders, environmental activists, and the general public, to join hands with the government in making Nasarawa a model of environmental sustainability," he added.
Hon. Danladi assured that under his leadership, the ministry would continue to implement proactive measures to safeguard the environment, emphasizing that collective responsibility is key to achieving long-term environmental stability.
