Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Isaac Danladi, Esq, has dismissed negative narratives surrounding the excision of the mining sub-sector from the ministry’s mandate, calling them the handiwork of mischief-makers.
Responding, questions from Journalists Hon. Danladi reaffirmed that Governor Abdullahi Sule exercised his executive authority in restructuring the ministry’s responsibilities.
He described the criticisms circulating on social media as baseless and intended to mislead the public.
He emphasized that the ministry remains actively engaged in key environmental programs, including afforestation, climate change initiatives, and World Bank-supported projects like NEWMAP and ACRESAL. According to him, these interventions are crucial to the state’s environmental sustainability and economic growth.
Hon. Danladi stressed that a well-managed environment is essential for attracting investors, adding that the ministry remains committed to fostering a serene and investment-friendly atmosphere in line with the governor’s vision.
He clarified that the mining sub-sector's transfer to the Governor’s Office was a strategic move to address longstanding challenges in the sector and enhance regulatory oversight.
He urged the public to disregard misleading narratives, assuring that the ministry would continue to serve the state’s best interests.
