Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reassured the people of the state of his unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and stability despite the ongoing political turmoil.
In a statement addressed to the people of Rivers, Governor Fubara emphasized that his administration has remained steadfast in upholding constitutional order and the rule of law.
He highlighted efforts made to restore harmony, including implementing the peace agreement brokered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reinstating commissioners who had previously resigned.
He further noted that his government swiftly complied with the Supreme Court’s judgment to restore normalcy in the state.
However, he lamented that the Rivers State House of Assembly had continually frustrated these peace efforts, making governance more challenging.
Despite the political crisis, Governor Fubara assured the public that his administration remains focused on safeguarding lives and property, delivering essential services, and executing impactful projects.
He urged Rivers people to remain peaceful and law-abiding, vowing to engage with relevant institutions to uphold democratic values.
The governor concluded by reaffirming his faith in the resilience of Rivers people and their ability to overcome the challenges facing the state.
