The newly created Ministry of Livestock Development has promised to support the Emir of Zazzau in Kaduna, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli to invest in livestock business.
The Minister of Ministry, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha dropped the hint while reacting to the interest expressed by the Emir to key into the business, at formal Commissioning of MEDHAL Nigerian Limited factory and unvelling of it's product an Block Salt Moor Lick in Zaria.
He said that the Livestock Sector was not just an economic pillar but lifeline for millions of Nigeria.
Maiha stated that livestock provides food and employment to thousands of Nigerians yet this sector face challenges of value chain and others such as feed shortages, diseases outbreak and climate change. He added "Today we take a bold step towards addressing one of these critical issues----nutritional deficiencies in our livestock".
The Minister further pointed out that the product was a solution rooted in innovation and science by providing essential minerals and nutrients, "the supplement will enhance animal health, improve productivity and ultimately increase the income of our farmers" he said
Earlier in his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli expressed his interest in keying into livestock farming in commercial quantity instead of peasant in the livestock as the animal multi Nutrient lick supplement was at our door step.
He urged his subjects to key in in the business to boost our economy by providing job opportunities among the communities.
Also his welcome address the Managing Director of the company, Dr Abul-Alimi Bello thanked Minister and the Emir for the immense support without which the commissing and unvelling of the product wouldn't have have been possible.
