In a gesture of unity and cultural appreciation, former Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, hosted the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, to a special Iftar dinner at her residence in Calabar.
The event was graced by key dignitaries, including the Acting Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi, who attended alongside the Chairman and members of the University’s Governing Council, management staff, and students.Also present were leaders of the Muslim community in Cross River State and other faithful, as the gathering coincided with the Christian observance of Lent.
Dr. Edu commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting its role in fostering national unity, interfaith harmony, and cultural inclusivity.She concluded with heartfelt wishes, saying, “Ramadan Kareem to the Muslim faithful and Happy Golden Jubilee Celebrations to my alma mater, the University of Calabar.
