Commissioner Isaac Danladi Champions Religious Unity, Compassion at Ramadan Tafsir Finale

Nasarawa State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Barrister Isaac Danladi, has called for unity and religious harmony among the people of Nasarawa State, urging them to prioritize their shared humanity over religious differences.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the Ramadan Tafsir and the distribution of Sallah relief items to orphans in the Madagwa community on Wednesday, Danladi emphasized that acts of kindness and compassion should be the cornerstone of every faith.

The event, held in Madagwa Hausa on the outskirts of Lafia, witnessed the distribution of essential items, including clothes, fabrics, food, and cash donations to over 70 orphans. 

The gesture was aimed at ensuring that the children could celebrate Eid-el-Fitr with dignity and joy, despite the absence of their parents.

Promoting Unity in Diversity

Addressing the gathering, Barrister Danladi underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance, stressing that faith should serve as a unifying force rather than a source of division.

“The best religion is kindness to humanity,” he remarked, emphasizing that all religious doctrines preach love, mercy, and generosity. 

He commended the district head of Madagwa Hausa for his relentless efforts in supporting orphans and vulnerable children, describing such acts of charity as a divine duty that brings immense rewards in this life and the hereafter.

Quoting Acts 20:35 from the Bible, he stated, “Blessed are the hands that giveth than the hands that receive. When you give from the bottom of your heart, you will be rewarded manifold.” 

He further noted that both Islam and Christianity encourage charity and selflessness, urging well-to-do individuals to extend their resources to uplift the less privileged in society.

Call for Peace, Generosity, and Shared Responsibility

Danladi also called on religious leaders and community stakeholders to continue fostering messages of peace, love, and unity, especially in a diverse society like Nasarawa State. 

He highlighted that misunderstandings often arise from ignorance and that mutual respect and dialogue can strengthen social cohesion.

He urged individuals, particularly those in positions of influence, to lead by example in demonstrating compassion and selflessness. 

“When we extend kindness to one another, we are not only fulfilling religious obligations but also creating a society built on love and understanding,” he added.

The commissioner reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote social welfare and community development, assuring that his ministry will continue to engage in programs that uplift vulnerable populations.

The Ramadan Tafsir closing ceremony was attended by religious leaders, traditional rulers, government officials, and community members, all of whom lauded the gesture and called for sustained efforts in supporting orphans and the needy.
