Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala , Abdukadir Muhammad, has inaugurated a daily flight for the Abuja-Bauchi route, to be operated by the Rano airline with an assurance to ensure the safety of passengers.
Speaking at the inaugural flight held at Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport in Bauchi yesterday, the governor said the resumption of the daily flights from Abuja to Bauchi by Rano Air marks a significant milestone in his administration’s ongoing efforts to enhance transportation and facilitate the movement of goods and services for the economic development of the state
Governor Bala Muhammad who was represented by his deputy, Muhammad Auwal Jatau, described transportation as the best method of having a sustainable economy.
He noted that with the commencement of oil drilling in Kolmani and the establishment of a cement company in Gwana, the partnership will be of immense benefit to the state.
On the Bauchi airport, the governor who expressed satisfaction with the service being rendered to air passengers from neighboring states, commended Rano Air for accepting to partner with the state
Muhammad equally noted that transportation is the lifeblood of any thriving economy, “as flights from Abuja to Bauchi play pivotal roles in connecting our state with the rest of the country,” and emphasised commitment to ensure ease of doing business, security, and the safe movement of people and goods within the state.
He welcomed the partnership between the state government and Rano Air, saying the decision is a testament to the immense potential and opportunities that Bauchi State offers, and promised to ensure the profitability and smooth operation of the airline in the state.
“Our government has invested heavily in road networks, but we recognise that air travel is equally essential.
Bauchi State International Airport, also known as the Abubakar Tafawa International Airport, serves not only Bauchi State but also neighboring states of Yobe, Jigawa, Gombe, and Adamawa. It boasts of state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the effective operation of airlines.
According to him, “We are aware of the challenges facing the aviation industry, and we pledge to do everything in our power to make your business in Bauchi State not only profitable but also an opportunity to expand and thrive.
“To the airlines operating on this route, I call upon you to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, punctuality, and consistency. Building trust and confidence among passengers is essential for the success of your operations.”
The governor used the medium to appreciate the regulatory agencies under the Federal Ministry of Aviation for their support in maintaining Bauchi airport to global standards and best practices, and reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to promoting ease of doing business, saying a well-functioning airport is vital for harnessing the tourism and investment opportunities in Bauchi State and the northern part of Nigeria.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Rano Air Alhaji Lawan Sabo Bakin Zuwo, pledged to contribute to the economic development of the state.
He said the airline covers 8 states in Nigeria including Bauchi, assured the governor of better services to the passengers in line with the partnership with the state government.
Rano Air Rano Air is a Nigerian airline founded in 2019. It operates domestic flights within Nigeria with routes between Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Kaduna, Sokoto, Maiduguri and Bauchi
