Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, announced via his official Facebook page the inauguration of the Supervisory Board of the Debt Management Office (DMO).
This initiative is part of the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance fiscal and monetary policy coordination, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at ensuring long-term debt sustainability.
During the board’s inaugural meeting, Vice President Shettima called on members to adopt a more strategic approach to public debt management.
He highlighted the need to utilize public debt effectively for developing critical infrastructure, stimulating economic growth, and reducing poverty across the nation.
