The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Vanguard in Taraba State has launched a scathing attack on Governor Agbu Kefas over what they called wasteful and unproductive foreign trips, accusing him of squandering billions of naira with no tangible results for the state.
In a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Rikwense Muri, the group condemned the governor’s extensive travel to countries including the United States, Finland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and India. Despite the stated intention of attracting investments, they argued that these trips have yielded no significant economic gains for the state.
“The governor’s foreign trips have become a financial burden on the state, draining over ₦6.5 billion in just one year without any measurable benefits,” the statement read.
The APC Youth Vanguard blasted the governor for neglecting pressing issues at home while prioritizing international engagements. They described the expenditure as reckless, insisting that such funds should have been channeled toward urgent regional development projects that would create jobs, boost the economy, and improve infrastructure.
“As advocates for the youth and development in Taraba, we demand that the governor immediately reassess these trips and focus on initiatives that deliver real results for the people,” the group declared.
They called for heightened accountability and transparency in governance, warning that continued mismanagement would only deepen the state’s socio-economic challenges.
