The 7th Nasarawa State House of Assembly reconvened today, Monday, after a six-week Christmas recess, reaffirming their dedication to legislative duties and the development of their constituencies.

The lawmakers had embarked on their break on December 20, 2024, and resumed plenary in Lafia, the state capital. Speaker Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, while presiding over the session, welcomed the legislators and commended their commitment to service.

"I want to welcome you back from a long holiday. We thank God for a fruitful break and for bringing us back safely," he said. "I appreciate your efforts in developing your constituencies and your passion for the people and the state. Let’s continue to work in unity for the overall progress of the House and Nasarawa State."

The Speaker also expressed condolences to lawmakers who lost loved ones during the recess, including Hon. John Ovey, Hon. Sa'ad, Hon. Hajarat, and Ven-Bawa, praying for divine comfort for them.

The Assembly is expected to continue its legislative activities with a renewed focus on governance and service delivery.
