In a strong demonstration of commitment to economic development, Nasarawa State’s Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Barr. Isaac Danladi, has emphasized the power of teamwork and collaborative leadership to advance the state’s mining industry.
In a meeting held at his office in Lafia, Danladi hosted the newly appointed Special Advisor on Mining, Alhaji Mohammed Usman—a key appointment championed by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Speaking passionately about the future of the mining sector, Danladi remarked, “We are going to work as servant to servant, not servant to master, for better relationships.
” His statement underscored the ministry’s dedication to creating a work environment based on mutual respect and shared responsibility, where every staff member is an integral part of the mission to transform mining into one of the state’s major revenue-generating sectors.
Permanent Secretary Garba Rosha also expressed high hopes for the newly appointed Special Advisor.
Rosha noted that Alhaji Mohammed Usman brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will be critical in navigating the challenges and opportunities within the mining sector.
“With his proven capacity to contribute significantly, we expect Nasarawa State to be marked as one of the highest mining regions, setting new benchmarks for efficiency and growth,” he added.
The appointment of Alhaji Usman comes at a time when the state is actively seeking to diversify its economy and leverage its rich mineral resources.
Mining, identified as a key source of revenue, is poised to play a transformative role in the state's economic landscape.
Governor Abdullahi Sule’s vision for mining is centered on not only increasing production but also ensuring that the benefits of the mining boom are shared across the community through sustainable practices and strategic partnerships.
Alhaji Mohammed Usman, on his part, pledged full support to the ministry’s initiatives.
