The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has confirmed 16 commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Abdullahi Sule for inclusion in the State Executive Council.
The confirmation occurred during sessions held on February 17 and 18 at the Assembly complex in Lafia.
Speaker Hon. Danladi Jatau announced the confirmations and extended congratulations to the nominees, urging them to implement effective policies in their respective ministries to foster the state's development.
He emphasized the importance of integrity and dedication in their official duties.
The confirmed nominees are:

In a related development, the Assembly received an apology letter from the former Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Yakubu Kwanta.
He expressed remorse for his previous failure to defend the 2024 budget performance of his ministry, attributing it to human error and seeking forgiveness from the House.
Speaker Jatau accepted the apology but issued a stern warning against future occurrences, emphasizing that the Assembly would not tolerate any actions undermining its authority.
He called on Hon. Kwanta and other government officials to respect the House and adhere to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Additionally, the Assembly conducted the first reading of a bill aimed at establishing the Nasarawa State Character Commission.
The bill, sponsored by Hon. Hudu A. Hudu, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, seeks to address matters related to equitable representation in the state's affairs.
The second reading is scheduled for February 26, 2025.
