Legal Firms in Benue Express Security Concerns Over Tribunal Sitting

Three legal firms have written letters to the Chairman of Local Government Election Petitions Tribunal in Benue State expressing their serious security concerns regarding the proposed tribunal sitting on 24th February, 2025. 
The three firms include S.I. AMEH (SAN) & CO, NDARANI (SAN) & CO, and Matthew Burkaa & Co.
Although, the firms  representing various Local Governments from the three Senatorial Zones of state, (A, B & C) addressed their letters which had similar content directly to the Chairman of the LG Tribunal, copies of which were made available to the press.
They cited potential threats of violence and a tense security situation around the court premises as reasons for requesting an adjournment of the proposed tribunal sitting on 24th February, 2025. 

The firms urged the sitting to be adjourned to a later date when adequate security measures will have been put in place to ensure the safety of their team of lawyers and clients. 

Although, at the time of filing this report, the Chairman of the LG Tribunal was yet to react to the letters, but the legal firms said they anticipated immediate and adequate consideration of their concerns.
