Gov. Sule Nominates 16 Commissioners, Includes Two Former Lawmakers

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has forwarded a list of 16 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation. The list includes two former state lawmakers and six returning commissioners.

The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, announced the submission of the list during Monday’s plenary session in Lafia. He directed the nominees to submit 30 copies of their curriculum vitae (CV) to the Assembly by Thursday and appear for screening on Monday next week.

The nominees include:

  • Yakubu Kwanta (Akwanga LGA)
  • Hon. Tanko Tunga (Awe LGA)
  • Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi and Gabriel Agbashi (Doma LGA)
  • Barr. Isaac Danladi Amadu (Karu LGA)
  • Princess Margaret Itaki Elayo (Keana LGA)
  • Dr. Ibrahim Tanko (Keffi LGA)
  • Dr. John DW Mamman (Kokona LGA)
  • Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata and CP Usman Baba (Rtd) (Lafia LGA)
  • Hon. Mohammed Sani Ottos (Nasarawa LGA)
  • Hon. Mohammed Agah Muluku (Nasarawa Eggon LGA)
  • Barr. David Moyi (Obi LGA)
  • Dr. Gaza Gwamna (Toto LGA)
  • Barr. Judbo Hauwa Samuel and Hon. Muazu Gosho (Wamba LGA)

Out of the 16 nominees, 10 are new appointees, while six are returning commissioners. The list also includes three women. Among the prominent names are Hon. Umar Tanko Tunga, former Majority Leader of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, and Hon. Mohammed Agah Muluku, a former most-ranking member of the Assembly.

The screening of the nominees is expected to take place next week.
