The Executive Chairman of Toto Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya, has inaugurated a 12-member staff salary verification and authentication committee.
The committee is tasked with screening and ascertaining the actual number of council staff.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Toto LGA, the chairman emphasized the importance of transparency and due diligence in their assignment.
He urged the members to prioritize professionalism and avoid personal interests, adding that their appointments were based on their proven track records.
“I expect thorough work devoid of personal interest.
The local government under my leadership will henceforth be guided by the outcomes of this exercise,” Pharm. Yahaya stated.
He further instructed the committee to produce a reliable staff strength report within two weeks, which will be instrumental for efficient planning and implementation in the council.
The chairman also assured the committee of his full support and reiterated his commitment to implementing policies and programs aimed at improving the standard of living in Toto LGA.
Responding on behalf of the committee, Mallam Adamu Danladi Maikeke, the committee's secretary and a former Clerk of Toto LGA, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them. He pledged that the committee would carry out its responsibilities with integrity and adhere to the given terms of reference.
The event was attended by prominent officials, including the Council Deputy Chairman, Hon. Atnadu Sunday Yakubu; Council Secretary, Alh Baba Mohammed (Alh Keke); Speaker of Toto LG Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Abdulhameed Ayizimazi; Acting DPM of the council, Hajiya Maryam Bako; and union leaders, among others.
