The highly anticipated CMD's Cup, a football tournament at the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH), Lafia, has reached its final stage after three days of intense competition among the management and various unions.
The tournament kicked off on Monday, January 6, 2025, with the Management Team defeating the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) 3-1.
On Day 2 (January 7, 2025), the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) dominated the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN) with a 4-1 victory. In the second match, the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) beat the National Union of Allied Professionals (NUAP) 4-2.
The semifinal matches on Day 3 (January 8, 2025) saw the Management Team secure a 2-0 win over ARD, while NANNM narrowly edged NUAP with a 1-0 victory.
The grand finale will see the Management Team face off against NANNM on Friday, January 10, 2025, at 4:00 PM. Fans are eagerly awaiting what promises to be an exciting showdown.
