The election of a new President General of Ohanézè NdÃgbo on 10th January 2025,is gathering steam.
As the contestants are jostling to outwit each other to win more support for their candidacy, a prominent leader of an Igbo socio-cultural group, Hon. Jude Amadi, the patron of IGBO BU OFU GLOBAL CONGRESS, made bold to assert that they are only two sets of candidates for the election, namely, Sir Mike Okiro and the others.
To him, the contest is a one horse race, as Sir Okiro is head and shoulders above any other contestant for the position.
Hon. Jude dropped a popular igbo proverb to support his assertion, that ahh "Edote oke Efi, Edote oke Dimkpa ka oga bu oke Efi gbapu, oke Dimkpa achuba ya " the nugget here is that "Efi " as a massive animal deserves a strong man to take charge of it.
He said the Igbo nation at this crucial time of it's history, background and in the light of contemporary politics is facing a herculean epoch and deserves a man of proven mental power, integrity and indepth administrative capacity not just said, but demonstrated over time and in different aspects of human endeavours to effectively handle the job credibly.
Hon.Jude Amadi went on to call on Sir Okiro not to be distracted over the baseless and fallacies, disparaging vitriolics being spewed out about him.
As such is what confirms his solid stature and intimidating posture, hence the frantic bid to surreptitiously rub off some of the shine in the vain attempt to reduce his burgeoning acceptance within and globally.
He said the allegations of his not being from Egbema or Rivers State should be seen as nothing but a deliberate ploy to cause disaffection among the delegates but such is to be expected since Sir Okiro is truly a massive force to reckon with in the race, he asked a rhetorical question that would one have expected something different... the answer is "capital NO".
He therefore urged Okiro "that every level has its own devil, don't be distracted.
