The Dudu Guru Youth Frontiers, a prominent youth group in Nasarawa State, has passionately appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to prioritize inclusivity and fairness in the upcoming reconstitution of the state executive council.
The group specifically called on the governor to appoint Comrade Akwayi Jonathan James as a commissioner, emphasizing the need for equitable representation in governance.
During a press briefing in Lafia, the chairman of the group, Mr. Michael Moyi, highlighted the long-standing exclusion of the Dudu Guru political ward from key decision-making roles in the state.
He pointed out that since Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999, the ward has not produced a commissioner, despite its active participation in the political process and unwavering support for successive governments in the state.
Mr. Moyi stated that Comrade Akwayi Jonathan James is a well-qualified and committed individual who has consistently championed the development of the ward and contributed significantly to community-building efforts.
He argued that appointing Comrade James would not only address historical neglect but also inspire the youth in the ward to remain politically active and hopeful about their future.
The group further stressed that recognizing the Dudu Guru ward through such an appointment would send a strong message about the governor’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable distribution of political opportunities across all regions of the state.
“We trust in Governor Sule’s leadership and believe that he will listen to our plea.
Our request is not just about political appointments; it’s about giving our community a voice and ensuring that no part of Nasarawa State feels left behind in governance,” Moyi stated.
The Dudu Guru Youth Frontiers concluded by expressing optimism that their call for representation would resonate with the governor and contribute to fostering unity and progress in the state.
