The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has been conferred with the traditional title of Santuraki Koron-Kuje by the Koron-Kuje Traditional Council in B.A.D, Lafia Local Government Area. Speaking during the ceremony, Speaker Jatau called on traditional rulers and community leaders to prioritize harmonious living among citizens to foster peace, unity, and development.
"Peace is a non-negotiable foundation for societal progress," he said, urging leaders to promote peace in their domains. He expressed gratitude to the traditional council for the honor and pledged to continue delivering inclusive leadership in the Assembly.
The Speaker also called on residents of the state to support Governor Abdullahi Sule's administration for the overall development of Nasarawa State.
In addition to Speaker Jatau, Barr. Esson Mairiga, representing Lafia North Constituency, was honored as Walin Koron-Kuje, while Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki of Lafia Central received the title of Jarami Koron-Kuje.
The event, marked by a vibrant display of Eggon culture and royalty, saw 47 distinguished individuals recognized with traditional titles, including philanthropist and State Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Amb. Isaac Kigbu.
Chairman of the occasion and former federal lawmaker, Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu, emphasized the responsibilities tied to traditional titles and appealed to the state government to construct the Lafia B.A.D road due to its socio-economic significance.
The conferment ceremony was hailed as a historic moment celebrating the contributions of the honorees to the Eggon community and Nasarawa State.
