Staff and students of the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa have praised the administration of President Bola Tinubu for disbursing student loans to 130 beneficiaries at the institution.

The commendation was made during an orientation workshop for the newly admitted students of the 2024/2025 academic session, organized by the Students Union Government (SUG) in Nasarawa.

The workshop aimed to inform new students about accessing the student loan, as well as educate them on institutional policies, decent dressing, the effects of drug abuse, the dangers of cultism, and proper road use.

Mr. Suleiman Mohammed, Acting Director of ICT and liaison for the loan disbursement, confirmed that 130 students have received loans from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund. He described the initiative as crucial for students struggling to pay tuition fees.

"This federal intervention is a significant relief, and more students will receive assistance as the process continues.

Thousands have applied, and those with complete applications will benefit," Mohammed stated.

Mr. Nuhu Abdulsamad, SUG President, also expressed gratitude to the federal government and emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the loan among students.

"We organized this workshop to address doubts and guide students on how to apply for the loan. Over 100 students have benefited, inspiring others to apply," Abdulsamad said.

Miss Cecilia Okoh, a newly admitted student, applauded the initiative, acknowledging its potential to aid many financially challenged students nationwide.

She also appreciated the efforts of the SUG in organizing the informative orientation.
