The League of Northern Democrats (LND), a pro-northern group advocating good governance, has revealed plans to transition into a full-fledged political party ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.
Former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, along with other prominent members of the group, emphasized the urgent need for an alternative platform to address the nation’s pressing challenges.
According to Shekarau, the new party aims to provide a credible alternative to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated, "Its guiding principles and strategic orientation will uniquely position it to deliver the credible change Nigerians desperately seek."
The LND has pledged to prioritize patriotism, honesty, and democratic values as the foundation of its political agenda.
