A coalition of concerned groups from Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon has issued a resolute call to former council chairman Hon. Mohammed Idiris Danlami, popularly known as Odasco, urging him to contest for the House of Representatives seat in the 2027 elections.

The groups, citing his track record of exceptional leadership and numerous achievements, have threatened legal action should he decline to heed their request.

Speaking to our correspondent, Emmanuel Antashi, a key representative of the coalition, expressed the groups’ determination to ensure Odasco represents their constituency in the green chamber.

According to him, the former chairman's refusal to run would not only be a disservice to the people but could also warrant legal measures to compel his participation in the race.

“We will not hesitate to take this matter to court if Hon. Mohammed Idiris Danlami does not respond positively to our call. His tenure as council chairman was characterized by transformative leadership, and we believe he has the vision, competence, and experience to represent Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon effectively at the national level,” Antashi stated.

The coalition highlighted several key achievements under Odasco’s tenure, including:

  1. Infrastructure Development: Roads, schools, and healthcare facilities were constructed and rehabilitated, improving access and living conditions for countless residents.
  2. Youth Empowerment: Skill acquisition programs and job creation initiatives launched during his leadership significantly reduced unemployment and empowered many young people.
  3. Community Unity and Peace: His inclusive leadership style fostered unity among the diverse communities in the constituency, ensuring peace and progress.
  4. Accountability and Transparency: Odasco earned the trust of the people by managing resources efficiently and ensuring development projects were executed transparently.

Antashi further noted that the groups’ insistence on Odasco’s candidacy stems from widespread grassroots support and a collective belief that his presence in the House of Representatives would bring much-needed development and representation to the constituency.

“It’s not just about his past achievements,” Antashi continued. “It’s about his ability to replicate that success on a larger scale.

We need someone who truly understands our needs and has the capacity to deliver. That person is Hon. Mohammed Idiris Danlami.”

The coalition has intensified its campaign to persuade Odasco, mobilizing stakeholders, traditional leaders, and community groups to reinforce their demand.

They believe his candidacy would be a unifying force and a step toward achieving greater development for Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon.

As the political landscape heats up ahead of the 2027 elections, all eyes are on Hon. Mohammed Idiris Danlami, with the people eagerly awaiting his response. For now, the message from his supporters is loud and clear: Odasco must run.
