Shabu Celebrates 20 Years of Leadership Excellence as Sangarin Shabu Marks Two Decades on the Throne

The ancient town of Shabu, a historic settlement of the Gwandara people, located just a few kilometers from Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, was agog with celebration as His Royal Highness, Mahmood Umar Bako Bwallah II, the Sangarin Shabu, marked his 20th year on the throne of his forebears.

The grand occasion attracted a cross-section of dignitaries, including traditional rulers, government officials, and eminent personalities from all walks of life. The Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, led by its Chairman, His Royal Highness Hon. Justice Sidi Mohammed Bage I (Rtd.), the Emir of Lafia, lent its weight to the event. 

The Chairman was ably represented by His Royal Highness, the Andoma of Doma, Aliyu Ahmad Oga Onawo.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs extolled the exemplary leadership style of the Sangarin Shabu, highlighting his contributions to the peace, progress, and development of the Shabu community and Nasarawa State at large.

Various speakers at the event praised HRH Mahmood Umar Bako Bwallah II for his commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of the Gwandara people while fostering unity and development within the region. 

They described his two decades on the throne as a testament to visionary and impactful leadership.

The colorful celebration featured traditional displays, cultural performances, and goodwill messages from dignitaries.

 The event underscored the enduring significance of traditional institutions in promoting harmony and socio-economic progress in society.

As Shabu rejoices in this historic milestone, the legacy of HRH Mahmood Umar Bako Bwallah II continues to inspire hope and resilience in the community. 

The occasion also served as a call to sustain the ideals of unity and development championed by the revered monarch.
