Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a N100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state to ensure they enjoy a fulfilling Christmas celebration.
This was disclosed in a statement by the state’s Head of Civil Service, George Nwaeke, on December 23, 2024.
The bonus will be distributed to employees in various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as pensioners within both civil and public services.
This marks the second time Governor Fubara has issued such a bonus during his administration, and for the first time, pensioners are included in the distribution.
The N100,000 Christmas bonus is well above the national minimum wage, reinforcing the Governor's commitment to the welfare of state workers.
It aligns with his "Rivers First" initiative, which focuses on improving the well-being and happiness of Rivers people across all sectors.
