President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as he marks his 75th birthday on December 25, 2024.
In a statement issued by the State House, President Tinubu commended Dr. Ganduje for his unwavering dedication to public service and his exemplary leadership within the party.
He highlighted the APC chairman's invaluable contributions to the development of Kano State and Nigeria at large, noting that his strategic guidance has been key in securing significant electoral victories for the party.
The President also praised Dr. Ganduje’s role in unifying and strengthening the APC, driving it towards achieving national development goals.
His commitment to constitutional democracy and decades of service, starting from his early career managing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) affairs and later as a commissioner in Kano State, were also recognized.
Dr. Ganduje’s political journey began in 1979 with the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN), and after the return to democracy in 1999, he served as Deputy Governor of Kano State before being elected Governor in 2015 and re-elected in 2019. He served as the Governor of Kano State until 2023, leaving a lasting legacy of effective governance and political leadership.
President Tinubu, in his message, expressed gratitude for Dr. Ganduje's support, policy insights, and tireless commitment to the nation’s progress. He extended his best wishes for the APC chairman’s continued success, good health, and fulfillment in all future endeavors.
Joining in the celebration, President Tinubu recognized Dr. Ganduje as a resourceful and courageous leader, a trusted ally, and a pillar of the party’s ongoing success.
