Born on March 21, 1968, in Angiri Bassa, Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Jatau epitomizes the transformative power of education. Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s assertion that “education is the most powerful weapon to change the world,” Jatau pursued his studies with determination. He attended Ikka Primary School, Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, and later earned degrees from the College of Education Akwanga, University of Calabar, and Benue State University, Makurdi, where he completed his Masters and Ph.D.

Danladi Jatau’s political journey began in 1997 when he was elected Councillor of Bassa Electoral Ward, Kokona LGA, a position he held until 1999 when he became Speaker of the Kokona Local Government Legislative Council. His grassroots appeal and leadership capabilities saw him serve as Chairman of Agwada Development Area in 2002 and as Special Assistant to the former Deputy Governor and later Minister of Information, Labaran Maku.
In 2011, he transitioned to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, representing Kokona West Constituency.
