Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), has appointed 200 youths from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Special Assistants, reinforcing his administration's commitment to youth inclusion and grassroots development.
The appointments, which reflect gender balance, were announced at the APC Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday. Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Kebbi State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, commended the governor for his dedication to fulfilling campaign promises and improving the lives of citizens.
Kana-Zuru outlined the administration's achievements, including the free distribution of fertilizers and foodstuffs, support for small and medium enterprises, the construction of solar-powered multi-lane roads, and the completion of the Multi-Billion Naira Ultra-Modern State Secretariat.
“In the last two years, Kebbi State has undergone remarkable transformation. Governor Idris runs an open and inclusive government that ensures the dividends of democracy reach everyone,” Kana-Zuru said.
Hajiya A’isha Gulabi, the APC State Women Leader, expressed gratitude on behalf of party members, noting that the appointments signify collective progress for the people of Kebbi. She called on the appointees to remain loyal and urged others awaiting opportunities to stay hopeful, as more initiatives are in the pipeline.
In a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ahmed Idris, the newly appointed youths were assured of commencing their salaries by the end of December 2024.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation, describing Governor Idris as a leader dedicated to the welfare of the people and a true servant of democracy.
