The Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Wale Edun, has announced the federal government’s approval for the recruitment of 3,927 personnel into the Nigeria Customs Service to enhance its anti-smuggling operations.
In a statement released on Sunday by the Service’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, the minister disclosed this development during the 61st meeting of the Customs Board held in Abuja.
The minister emphasized the critical role of the Customs Service in generating revenue for the federal government, particularly in supporting the 2025 national budget.
