The Nasiriyya Group in Nigeria, which supports former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, for the 2027 presidential race, has appointed Alhaji Nasiru Soja as the president of its Northern region, covering the central states of Nigeria.
The group's president, Garkuwa Ibrahim Babuga, officially confirmed the appointment during a ceremony held in Nasarawa State. Babuga expressed confidence that El-Rufai would emerge victorious in the upcoming 2027 election, emphasizing the group’s commitment to supporting his candidacy.
On his part, the newly appointed leader of Nasiriyya in the Central Northern region, Alhaji Nasiru Soja, promised to work tirelessly to ensure the success of the former Abuja Minister, Malam Nasiru El-Rufai, in the 2027 presidential race. Soja stressed that El-Rufai was the only candidate capable of fighting corruption across Nigeria, citing his impactful tenure as the Governor of Kaduna and his time as Minister in Abuja.
The national president of the Nasiriyya Group further highlighted that the decision to appoint Alhaji Nasiru Soja was based on his extensive experience in various sectors of life, aiming to strategically position the region for victory in the election.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Nasarawa State chapter, Hon. Salisu Yakubu Mai Jama’a, also expressed his support for the leadership transition within the organization.
The event, which marked the formal inauguration of the new leadership, took place in Maraba, Nasarawa State, and was attended by key leaders from the group’s various chapters across Nigeria.
Malam Mohammed Abdullahi, popularly known as Malam Mai Rawani, also voiced his optimism about the new leadership and expressed confidence in their ability to drive the group's mission forward.
