The Member representing Nasarawa Central Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hajarat Danyaro Ibrahim, has empowered her constituents with items worth N30 million during her End-of-Year Constituency Empowerment Programme tagged “TALAFIN TAFISU”.
The empowerment package included the distribution of over 200 wrappers to widows, 10 motorcycles, 30 grinding machines, and 30 sewing machines. Additionally, Hon. Hajarat enrolled 200 vulnerable individuals into the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme (NASHIA) to improve their health and standard of living.
Speaking at the event held in Nasarawa Local Government Area, Hon. Hajarat emphasized her commitment to delivering sustainable empowerment programs that positively impact her constituency.
"Since my assumption of office, this is the eighth time I have returned home to extend this humanitarian gesture," she said. "The TALAFIN TAFISU initiative is a deliberate program designed to provide succor and uplift the lives of our people. I am committed to sustaining this effort to ensure its impact continues to be felt.”
Hon. Hajarat urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items, encouraging them not to sell but utilize them to improve their families’ livelihoods. She reassured constituents of her continued partnership with the state government to attract more developmental projects while calling for peace and support for Governor Abdullahi Sule's administration.
The Executive Secretary of NASHIA, Dr. Yahaya Bawa Ubam, praised Hon. Hajarat for prioritizing the health of her constituents by registering 200 vulnerable individuals into the state health insurance scheme. He urged other politicians and stakeholders to emulate her gesture to ensure accessible healthcare for all residents.
Commending her efforts, the Emir of Nasarawa, HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Usman Jibril, represented by Dr. Idris Mohammed Loko, and other dignitaries including Hon. Mohammed Ahmed Hassan and Dr. Aliyu Bello, lauded Hon. Hajarat's leadership. They described her initiatives as impactful, urging beneficiaries to utilize the support items for their intended purpose.
Beneficiaries Amos Thomas Audi and Hajiya Safiya Aliyu expressed gratitude to Hon. Hajarat for her benevolence and pledged their continued support for her leadership beyond 2027.
The TALAFIN TAFISU empowerment programme underscores Hon. Hajarat's resolve to address poverty, promote self-reliance, and improve the standard of living for the people of Nasarawa Central Constituency.
