Nasarawa State Acting Governor of, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, has extended his warm Christmas wishes to the people of the state, urging them to embrace the true spirit of the season through love, humility, and peaceful coexistence.
In a goodwill message released today, Dr. Akabe emphasized the importance of the teachings of Jesus Christ—love, peace, and respect for one another—as the core values that should guide the celebrations.
The Acting Governor, on behalf of the state government and its citizens, felicitated with Christians in Nasarawa and across the world, marking the birth of Jesus Christ.
He highlighted the significance of this event, encouraging people to share joy and kindness, regardless of religion or belief.
Dr. Akabe also called on the Christian community to pray for the nation’s progress and for lasting peace and prosperity in Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole.
He acknowledged the economic challenges faced by many due to federal government policies, but urged patience, optimism, and continued faith in the government's vision for sustainable growth and development.
On the occasion of Christmas, the Acting Governor asked Christians to pray for the state’s leadership, particularly Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule, seeking divine guidance and blessings for continued peace and progress in Nasarawa.
Dr. Akabe urged all citizens to celebrate the season with moderation, avoiding excesses and criminal activities that contradict the values of the Christmas season.
Furthermore, Dr. Akabe expressed his condolences for those who lost their lives in recent incidents in Ibadan, Okija, and the Federal Capital Territory during the distribution of Christmas palliatives.
He extended sympathies to the governments and people of Oyo, Anambra, and the Federal Capital Territory, praying for the eternal rest of the departed souls.
In his message, Dr. Akabe called for increased caution on the roads during the holiday season.
He urged all road users to obey traffic laws and ensure safety, while also reminding road safety agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Commission, to intensify their efforts in maintaining accident-free roads during the festivities.
Concluding his message, Dr. Akabe wished the people of Nasarawa State a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year ahead.
