Nasarawa Speaker Hon. Danladi Jatau Calls for Prayers for Leaders, Drums Support for Gov. Sule’s Administration

In a heartfelt Christmas message, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, urged Nigerians, especially Christians, to embrace the virtues of love, peace, hope, unity, and sacrifice during the festive season in order to foster a more inclusive and prosperous society.

Speaking at the ECWA Goodnews Church in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area (LGA), the Speaker, who represents Kokona West, emphasized that if Nigerians practiced genuine love and kindness, the country would be a better place for all.

"Let us all remember that Christmas is a time to spread the love of Christ to family, friends, neighbors, and especially the less privileged in society," Jatau said.

"Let love continue to be our focus point, as we help one another and share the spirit of unity and peace."

He further noted that the birth of Jesus Christ symbolizes God’s love for humanity, the triumph of good over evil, and the victory of light over darkness.

Reflecting on his first year as Speaker, Jatau expressed gratitude for the support from the church and his constituents, acknowledging the prayers and efforts that have contributed to the successes of both his office and Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration.

"I am thankful to God for His guidance and the progress we’ve made in the last year," Jatau said. "Gov. Sule has made significant strides in improving Kokona LGA and other areas. In the upcoming 2025 budget, many more projects are planned, and we must continue to support him for the benefit of all."

The Speaker also appealed to the people of Kokona LGA and beyond to remain united and peaceful, stressing the importance of cooperation for continued development.

Rev. Bitrus Kaya, the pastor-in-charge of ECWA Goodnews Church, presided over the service and reminded the congregation of the Biblical call to love one’s neighbor. Quoting John 13:34, he urged Nigerians to extend love and kindness to all, regardless of religious or cultural differences, for the sake of peace and national progress.

"We must love one another, whether Christian, Muslim, or traditionalist, for the peace and development of our country," Rev. Kaya said, also urging Christians to forgive and shun hatred in order to inherit the Kingdom of God.

He praised the Speaker's leadership, acknowledging his successful first year in office and expressing appreciation for the employment opportunities and other projects initiated by Jatau.
